First Race

I have decided, after much persuading, that I am going to run the 1ok in Bear Lake this June. This will be my first race and I'm a little freaked out. I only started running like two weeks ago when we got our treadmill and I have to work my way up to 6 miles! So far I can only run two miles comfortably but it is finally starting to get easier! Tricia is the one who talked me into it and now some friends from here are going to run and also my brother in law Quincy. It should be fun. I'll keep you posted on my progress and all that...

Good Luck! You are braver than me. I think I could walk but no running. I hope everything works out as planned. That is a great achievement.

Good job Jules! I would run it with you guys but my baby wouldn't know what in the heck his mommy was doing and he'd probably decide to come early. I'm proud of you and quincy and I will be standing on the side with cup of hot coffee (Seinfeld) , I mean cold water!

Yippee for running! It took me a while after I had Kate to get back into it but now I'm hooked! I just ran my first marathon last weekend and loved it. Good luck and when we make it back out there we should run a race together sometime.

You are my IDOL!!! Wow, to go from a couch potatoe, scrapbookin fool to a marathon runner....I can only wish I could be like you! Really, best of luck, if this wind stops, you may even get me out with you once in a while.

I think everyone is running these days! Too bad I have yet to be inspired. Keep telling me about it and maybe I will join the crowd! Good luck and I hope it is fun althought I can't imagine how it could be :)

Good luck Julie. I have a friend here who has been trying to talk me into running the Akron half marathon this August. I am training but not doing as well as I'd hoped I would be at this point. I am going to do the "fun" run at home on the 4th and see how I handle it.

Way to go! I hope you don't have to run up that big hill from the Logan Canyon into Bear Lake! It is a beast but I am sure you can do it!

Good luck! I admire you! Keep training in our infamous local wind and it will be a breeze (no pun intended) once you get out of here!

I'm excited for you to be able to say you ran a marathon. Too bad I'm pregnant and have an excuse besides being lazy not to do it. I think you need to get Roman to do it with you!!

Julie, my sister is running the Bear Lake marathon too in June!! But she's running the full marathon and I'll be there too. (Not running of course, just for support). Maybe I'll see ya and cheer you on from the side!
