Moose action

So this is what I woke up to this morning out our bedroom window! Crazy...it was a cold windy day and this little baby moose decided to take refuge by our house. Across the street a Fish and Game cop had already been notified and was waiting for back up to come with a tranquilizer. He was hoping for a nice quiet family to just let the moose stay put so they could get a good shot. All of this oblivious to us Griggs.

I needed a better shot for my blog -right, so I traipsed out in my jammies and boots to get a better look. In the meantime he started eating our new PLANTS so Roman and the boys were pounding on the window to scare him. So much for a nice, quiet family.
He headed across the street for more vegetation all the while the Fish cop upset the moose was disturbed. Oops...

So I'm frozen by this time and headed home to find the boys on the front porch with their toy gun saying "We're gonna get the moose." Roman was proud (future hunters), I was embarrassed (kids causing commotion in pj's for all to see), and the fish cop once again totally unimpressed (still hoping for that quiet spot the moose can stay put).


Anyway, finally they came and shot him with a tranquilizer and took him to safer ground. Our morning entertainment came to an end.




Nothing like a little moose action to start your day off right. Ethan even asked if he didn't have to go to school because we'd seen a moose. I assured him he needed to go and tell everyone all about it!
