Off the hard stuff

I'm posting this as a celebration to myself. I have been "off" Dr Pepper for well over a month now! It was not easy since I have been drinking it regularly since high school. I can't say I don't miss it sometimes, but I have enjoyed the benefits of NOT drinking it more than I used to enjoy it.
For instance, my running stamina has improved. I know that should be no surprise to me that carbonation slows you down, but I never believed it before now. Um, ya it's very true.
And the second surprise is better skin. I didn't expect this at all since once again I didn't believe the correlation between caffeine and zits, but I think it may be true. I will never have beautiful celebrity skin, but I definitely have noticed a difference. Could be the increase of water I've been drinking too that makes the difference. Either way, its GREAT!
SLEEP also comes a lot easier and I stay asleep rather than up a lot during the night. Again...why am I shocked?
Probably the best one is just vowing to do something and then following through. It feels great to trust myself. Now I can move on to bigger things like regularly cooking at home:)
And last, I haven't lost an instant 10 pounds or anything like one would hope, but I did lose a couple and I can't complain about that.
I kicked it and so can you!

I think I'm going to continue with my occasional cherry Dr. Pepper. It's a nice treat, once in a awhile. Remember, everything in moderation...right?? But kudos to you for kicking it completely.

Well done! Cutting stuff out is so hard but I have to agree with how nice it feels to stick to something. Congrats!

I am so proud of you! But as long as I can remember I've associated Julie with Dr. Pepper! =) You have more will power than I do!
